This policy applies to our website, our mobile application (“the App”), and our physical workshop services.

We collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide automotive services and app functionality:

  • Personal Identifiers: Name, residential/billing address, email address, and mobile phone number.

  • Vehicle Data: Registration number, VIN, make, model, year, engine details, and service/odometer history.

  • Digital Garage Content: Uploaded photos or PDFs of invoices, registration papers, insurance policies, and receipts.

  • Location Data: If enabled, to help you find local service centers or provide location-specific reminders.

  • Financial Data: We use encrypted third-party processors (e.g., Stripe) to handle credit card details. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.

 

 

 

3. Methods of Collection

  • Direct Interaction: Information you enter when creating an account, booking a service, or contacting support.

  • Automated Tracking: We use the registration plate you provide to query public and private automotive databases to pull vehicle specifications and expiry dates.

  • Cookies and Analytics: We use cookies and tools such as Google Analytics to track website traffic and App performance to improve user experience.

4. Purpose of Use and Disclosure

We use your data for the following Primary Purposes:

  • Service Reminders: Sending automated push notifications, SMS, or emails regarding registration, insurance, and service intervals.

  • Workshop Operations: Processing “Pink Slips,” mechanical repairs, and generating tax invoices.

  • Document Management: Allowing you to retrieve stored vehicle documents anytime, anywhere.

  • Payment Processing: Sending payment requests from workshops and facilitating secure mobile payments.

We will not sell your personal data to third-party marketers. We only disclose data to:

  • Cloud storage providers (for App data hosting).

  • Government agencies (e.g., Transport for NSW for rego checks).

  • Our authorized employees and contractors on a “need-to-know” basis.

 

 

 

5. Data Security and Retention

  • Security: We employ industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for data in transit. However, users acknowledge that no electronic transmission is 100% secure.

  • Retention: We retain data for as long as your account is active or as required by Australian tax and transport laws (typically 7 years for financial records).

  • Deletion: You may request account deletion at any time via the App settings or by emailing support@autoport.com.au.

6. Access and Corrections

Under the APPs, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you. If your details are incorrect (e.g., a change of phone number), you can update them directly in the App or contact us for assistance.
